Panteon No.2

Mazatlán was founded in 1531 by the Spanish.  By the 1800's there was a heavy German population that came to this area for the mining opportunities.  The Chinese followed and by the late 1800's the city was multicultural.

Yesterday my sister Sara and cousin Carol wanted to see a little of that history by visiting one of the old cemeteries in the central part of town.  We were off to find Panteon No.2 a walled cemetery from the 1800's.

The tombs remind me of our visit to New Orleans.

A tree grows from a unkempt tomb.

This tomb seems to be missing someone.

After our walk through history we were as parched as those we had just visited.  We stopped by a neighborhood juice bar for smoothies.

Life is good..... we're off to baseball..... more on that later.
