We're In Yellowstone

It was a relaxing morning in Island Park with an easy drive to the town of West Yellowstone arriving around noon.  We stopped in town and all had great burgers for lunch, wondered around being tourists and went to the grocery store to stock up on fresh fruits and veggies for the next week.

We entered Yellowstone through the West entrance and within minutes the views were stunning as we drove along the Madison River.

Madison River
As we drove along the river there were dozens of fly fisherman.
Within the first hour in the park we saw a moose standing in the middle of the river, four elk including a big male and hundreds of buffalo grazing.  I was driving when we passed the antelope so I couldn't see them but there is always tomorrow.

A female moose belly deep in the middle of the river.
All the photos today were shoot as we drove along at 30 - 45 MPH.  It's not possible to pull over alongside the road in a 35 foot motorhome.  Hopefully tomorrows pictures will be better as we travel in the Honda.
Where do the buffalo graze?  Anywhere they want to.
We are settled into Fishing Bridge campground in the center of Yellowstone for the next 11 days.  We are all happy that we won't have to pack-up and move for many days.  It will be hikes, walks, bike rides, kayak paddling and viewing the sights for the next several days.  We may go out of the park to visit Cody, Wyoming during next week.

When we arrived at the campground today they could not find our reservation.  It turned the Ranger spelled our name RENGER.  You would think they would know how to spell Ranger. Duh.

We traveled through 3 states today so that makes it a very good day.  But being in Yellowstone National Park makes it a great day.
