Chattahoochee

I know that y'all are fans of Alan Jackson, so here are the lyrics, everyone sing along.  I just sang it really loud for Terri.  She was thrilled.

We're driving in to Chattahoochee in a few minutes.  Maybe I'll sing it standing in the middle of Main Street.  I'll stop traffic with my singing.

"Chattahoochee"
Well, way down yonder on the Chattahoochee
It gets hotter than a hoochie coochie
We laid rubber on the Georgia asphalt
We got a little crazy but we never got caught.

Down by the river on a Friday night
Pyramid of cans in the pale moonlight
Talkin' 'bout cars and dreamin' 'bout women
Never had a plan, just a livin' for the minute.

Yeah, way down yonder on the Chattahoochee
Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me
But I learned how to swim and I learned who I was
A lot about livin' and a little 'bout love.

Ya ha

Well, we fogged up the windows in my old Chevy
I was willin' but she wasn't ready
So I settled for a burger and a grape sno-cone
I dropped her off early but I didn't go home.

Down by the river on a Friday night
Pyramid of cans in the pale moonlight
Talkin' 'bout cars and dreamin' 'bout women
Never had a plan, just a livin' for the minute.

Yeah, way down yonder on the Chattahochee
Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me
But I learned how to swim and I learned who I was
A lot about livin' and a little 'bout love.

Well, way down yonder on the Chattahochee

It gets hotter than a hoochie coochie

We laid rubber on the Georgia asphalt
We got a little crazy but we never got caught.

Well, we fogged up the windows in my old Chevy
I was willin' but she wasn't ready
So I settled for a burger and a grape sno-cone
I dropped her off early but I didn't go home.

A lot about livin' and a little 'bout love.

A lot about livin' and a little 'bout love.

Ya he

That's right...

The downtown Chattahoochee crosswalk.

  1. The crosswalk is the high-point of the town?? Seriously??

  2. Seriously?? You know I always lean toward the positive side of a story. That photo was the main intersection in downtown Chattahoochee. I was very careful to pick the most flattering photo possible to highlight the town. Trust me, the closed down 50's gas station and tin building were the good side of the street. The other 3 blocks of town are not quite that upscale.
