New Orleans...a Circus, a Carnival, a Zoo

How do you describe New Orleans?  There is so much happening every minute it's hard to explain.  There are constant sounds of music, many times overlapping each other.  Smells range from cigars to Cajun food.  Our vision is overloaded with the colors of art, people, buildings and an odd culture.  It's like standing in the center ring of a circus or inside a cage at a zoo or maybe in a carnival crowd.

At times I just stop and turn a full circle.  It's definitely sensory overload at its' best.

Gold teeth or gold cloths..... it's all there.

A bakery to add to the smells.
Renaissance people in front of a Voo Doo shop.  Weird, unless you are in New Orleans.
Sometimes run-down.
Sometimes nice.
Sometimes afloat.
Or flowers.
In bronze.
Or several in bronze.
And always in neon.
We are liking it enough that we added 2 more day to our stay at St. Bernard State Park.  Chances are good we'll add a couple more, there's more music to be heard and seen. One week is not enough.

Life is good in a neon circus.
