I enjoyed the amazing sights along the way. With almost no traffic on these roads the driving was very relaxing, I could drive at any speed I wanted to. Eastern Oregon has a little bit of everything to see but if I had to use one word to describe the area it would be "Big". As we came down from a pass we could look out for 5 or 10 miles and see open land. Population zero.
Before we left Pendleton we went for a tour of the Pendleton Mills. The manufacturing of beautiful woolens was a sight to see. I loved all the machinery that made yarn and wove the cloth. A rainbow of colors was everywhere you looked.

Next we visited Hamley's. It is a western store that has been in this location for 109 years. It has all things cowboy. And cowgirl too.

Need a cowboy hat. They've got you covered.
I'll cover the 2 day, 8 mountain passes in the next blog.
Pretty colors! How many miles between Pendleton and Boise??
