New Carpet and Hardwood

We moved on to Gorst, Washington this morning.  Now if you know where Gorst is, you are one of the few.  It is at a bend in the road between Tacoma and Bremerton.  It is often our home base when we are in Washington state.  For years we have square danced at Kitsap Square Dance Association which is located on the Old Belfair Highway.

KSDA is a larger hall with wonderful old wood floors that was constructed by square dancers many decades ago.  The site has many acres of land that include a beautiful stream and over 60 RV campsites.

We are parked near the hall, up the road are dozens of additional RV sites.
What we love most about coming out here is the peace and quiet.  Eva loves running on the acres of lawn.  As usual we are the only people here.  Dances are on the weekends with a few classes during the weekday nights.

We know where the keys are so we can just let ourselves in at anytime.  Camping costs are $15.00 per night which is a bargain for a nice big private campground.

And the work begins.
Our reason for being here this time is to get some renovation projects done.  It's time to replace all the flooring in the motorhome.  We've ordered the new carpeting from the same company that did the work in the home we built on Raft Island.  The difference is we (Terri and I) will be doing the tear-out and installation ourselves this time.

I didn't fall down, I'm working.
We began by removing the front seats and tearing out the old carpet.  A zillion staples and some really good glue made it a good workout.  Tomorrow we will prep the floors and start installing the new wood floor in the front area.  Terri has designed a new layout which will add several areas of wood where carpet is right now.  We are using a maple that will match the cabinetry.

Eva is willing to help.

Life is good.... even with sore knees.... old man.
