Happy 4th from Hurricane Andrew

After several days with temperatures in the mid 90's we have been given a break by Hurricane Andrew.  As it worked it's way up the East coast it has brought a variety of crazy weather.  Heat and humidity, lightening and thunder, high winds and downpours all in the last two days.  It's in the mid 70's as I write and we are enjoying the cool breezes.

We're decorated for the 4th.
We went to Matt's place for dinner last night.  Mo prepared a great Italian dinner and we sat around until the storm knocked out the power at their house.  We had planned on going to the base fireworks show in the evening but the storm and rain changed our plans.

We left their place early to go back to the motorhome to see if we had power.  Tucked back in the woods at Patapsco State Park shielded us from the storm so we sat back and enjoyed the lightening and thunder show.  The East coast does a much more spectacular job of lightening and thunder than Washington state, it's entertaining for us.

Eva doesn't appreciate the thunder as much as we do.  She finds a corner to hunker down in until the excitement passes.

Eva keeps watch out the front windshield of the motorhome.
Matt, Mo and Billy are coming over to the state park for dinner with us tonight.  It will be ribs and all the fixins' tonight.

We are going into Baltimore on Monday and we will be back in DC this weekend.  We are enjoying our visit here and have found Patapsco State Park to be a great place to use as our base for visiting.  During the midweek there are not many people staying here so it feels very private in our campsite.

A nice site back in the woods.
Life is good..... a hurricane makes a nice fan.
