Coral Pink Sands

It rained a bit last night so we awoke to a gray morning here in Kanab.  Neither of us was inspired to venture out hiking in the cold so we waited till later to take a road trip to Coral Pink Dunes State Park.

Pink sand dunes.
As we drove closer to the park the clouds took on a pink tinge from the color of the sand reflecting back up on them.

The dunes are steep enough that people snow board on them.  The only problem I could see was the climb back up.

There are thousands of acres of BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land that surround this whole area.  We will be moving out of Kanab to a canyon we have found to camp in the rest of the week.  It will be us and the lizards sharing a home.

Down the road to our new home.
It was fun searching for the next great camping spot.  The choices are plentiful but we think we know where we will end up tomorrow morning.

The reason we are hanging around Kanab this week is the upcoming Greyhound Gathering that happens here each year.  The town will be overrun with Greyhounds this weekend.  Terri came here in 2004 when we first owned our own Grayhounds to be part of the event.  We'll be on the sidelines looking in this time because we don't own a Grayhound anymore.

Good night from the girls.
Life is good.

  1. Is Terri all prepared with a new tank top that shows off her tattoo?
